Registration
You are encouraged to register as early as possible to ensure
a space in your selected classes. All students
are required to meet with an advisor before registering. To
schedule an advising appointment, new students may contact
the Admissions office; returning students are to directly
contact their previously-assigned advisor.
Registration
Fees
A non-refundable and non-transferable registration
fee of $15.00 will be assessed each semester.
Residency
If you are claiming Maryland residency or if you are an out-of-state student
eligible for a reduced tuition rate, you must provide proof of residency. All documentation provided must reflect a period
of not less than three (3) months prior to the first day of the semester.

Dropping
a Course / Withdrawing from College
Students who elect to drop a course by the official
drop date must contact the Office of Records & Registration
and process the Drop/Add or Withdrawal in writing.
Enrollment & Degree
Verifications
Garrett College has authorized the National Student
Clearinghouse to provide employers and background screening
firms with enrollment and degree verifications. Organizations
should visit www.degreeverify.org to
request this information.
Current students may request enrollment verifications
for insurance companies, housing authorities, etc., by visiting
the Office of Records & Registration.
Transcripts
Your academic transcript can be obtained only from the Office
of Records & Registration, and written authorization
from the student is required before any transcript(s) will
be released. Transcript requests can be submitted via fax
(301-387-3038) or mail. Please allow at least 24-hour advance
notice for all requests.

Graduation
Application for graduation should be completed in the Fall
semester prior to graduation in May. If you plan to graduate
at the end of this academic year, see your advisor to initiate
the process.
